Orphic Fragment: Apotheosis 

You will find a spring flowing to the left of Hades’ Halls and beside it a white cyprus tree. Do not approach these waters at all lest you be tempted to drink, for your thirst will be great.

You will soon find another spring, one fed by the waters of memory rather than forgetfulness. But before you can sample the cold waters rushing forth you must confront the Guardians.

They will block your way and point to the cyprus tree. And you will be tempted to turn back and drink of those waters, for your thirst will be great. 

Instead you must declare: I am a child of Earth and the starry Heavens, but my origin is Celestial alone, as you well know.  I thirst only for my lost memories as I wish to awaken.

They will then allow you to pass and drink deep from the divine waters. Afterwards you will reside with the other heroes in Elysium. No longer a mortal, you will have become a God.
