Hyborian Campaign VI
"Conan is a Man of Fate,
an incarnate power whose actions shake nations and alter destinies. There are others: mighty ones who wield tremendous
influence but are seldom seen. These men have abandoned their feuds and are now joined in common purpose to destroy
their common enemy, King Conan of Aquilonia. Conan is undaunted and eager to test his mettle on the Anvil of Crom "
Chapter I: Crossing Swords
King Conan and Pallantides are still absent, attending
to an affair of state in Nemedia. Civil unrest in Tarantia remains high. Publius, Chancellor of Aquilonia, sends Cael and
a handful of his men on a mission to apprehend a local bravo who is rumored to have murdered Urestes and orchestrated
the kidnapping and near-sacrifice of Zelata. It is discovered that Hissah Zul, a foul wizard the king defeated
long ago, is playing a role in the events that are afflicting Aquilonia.
Chapter II: The Path of Lies
There are murmurs of revolt when rumors reach Tarantia of
King Conan's capture by Tarascus. Publius receives word of grave problems in Asgard from Cappen Varra, a traveling bard. Cael
and his Barbarian Legion capture Essenic of Shamar and round up other potential assassins. They also uncover a plot to assassinate
the King, should he return to Aquilonia. Stark's demon, revealed to be a minion of Hissah Zul, deserts him and posesses a
local madman.
Chapter III: The Trail of Truth
Thea, Gunthor and Cale, with some assistance from Stark and
the Executioner, follow a trail of clues that lead to the highest levels of Tarantia's ruling elite. A quirk in Aquilonia's
monetary distribution system and the reccurence of Bull motifs implicate the Mitraeum and an untouchable aristocrat in
a plot to forment religious strife and place a new king on Aquilonia's throne.
Chapter IV: The Serpent's Lair
Pallantides, grieving the loss of his son in Nemedia, returns
to Aquilonia and lends his arm to the raid on the archaic Mitraeum beneath Lord Nadonidus' estate. Arroth, Stark, Cole and
Thea spearhead the mission. Taspius and his mercenary force are but the first of many perils faced by the Aquilonians.
Other Challenges: Zamoran warriors and spider-cultists, The Skull That Talks, a demon-possessed serial killer, a
Hyperborean necromancer commanding the skeletal remains of Barbaric Hyborii, Stygian Setites, and the demigod Thulsa
Doom, returned from Set's domain with a new mission. Though the Aquilonians win the day, Lord Nadonidus has fled to Zamora
and Thulsa Doom stepped through a portal to Stygia. Conan and Zenobia enter Tarantia without incident.
Chapter V: A New Day Dawns
The Barbarian Legion and the Golden Gryphons are assigned
to police the Khorotas Ward when stationed in Tarantia. They are given a tour of their district and an orientation to their
responsibilities by Ward Governor Kadakithis' staff and are lodged in Vashanka's Square. They are then briefed on their next
foreign assignment: Bring gifts and represent Conan's court at the wedding of Governor Oleksa of Arenjun in Zamora. Gather
intelligence about Yara/Nadonidus and the new Tower of the Elephant.

Chapter VI: Crossroads of the World
After checking into the Aquilonian Embassy our heroes investigate
the Tower of the Elephant's perimiter and meet with Zamoran allies: Zula, Lotus and the Oracle in a local pub. Zula has
resigned from her comission as General of Shadizar's forces to rescue Lady Jenna's daughter, whose father is revealed
to be Conan, from Yara's clutches. Akiro's daughter Lotus and Shadizar's most powerful seer have done the same. Yara's forces
burn the tavern in an effort to apprehend Conan's forces. Our heroes are saved by the Zamoran mystics, who conjure a
portal. Safely outside Arenjun, they see a small party on horseback fleeing toward the mountains that separate Zamora from
Turan.
Chapter VII: The Missing Bride
Arrested by Governor Oleksa on trumped up charges, the Aquilonians
must aid Yara's forces in retrieving Juliana, Oleksa's missing bride. Was she kidnapped or did she escape? Zula, Lotus
and the Oracle are held hostage by Oleksa to guarantee the good behavior of Conan's forces. Yara displays his new
pet: undead Otli, doomed to serve the wizard while fully aware of his plight. The uneasy allies head towards the mountains
to the east. After defeating a Brythunian bully in Sweet Milk, a small border town, they establish contact with the Zamoran
garrison and enter the narrow and treacherous Path of the Goat.
Chapter VIII: Turnabout Isn't Fair
Play
The Aquilonians and Yara's forces discover Juliana with
Bogdan and his bandits. While attempting to retrieve her they are waylaid by Oleksa and his troops. The Governor of Arenjun
has no intention of honoring any of his agreements and orders his soldiers to slay everyone except his runaway bride. The
Zamorans, alas, are defeated by Conan's troops, Yara's minions and Bogdan's bandits. On Yara's command, Oleksa is sacrificed
by Elsbeth and the Executioner in the nearby ruins of Kovag-Re's long-abandoned fane. Elsbeth is appointed High
Priestess of Kovag-Re. Yara is now Governor of Arenjun. He releases Otli, his prisoners from Shadizar and Conan's daughter
Alitheia. He also makes overtures of friendship toward Shadizar and Aquilonia.
Chapter IX: A Family Affair
Jarveena, a messenger from Aquilonia, dispatches the Golden Gryphons, the Barbarian Legion and the
Executioner's mercenaries to the badlands of Shem to assist the Black Dragons in apprehending Setite sorcerers led by the
Skull-That-Talks. Jarveena escorts Yara's gifts and the Oracle to King Conan, Alitheia returns to Shadizar with Zula and Lotus,
undead Otli accompanies the troops to Shem. Beyond the Horex Stones a great battle ensues. Bayu and Nzinga have pledged their
support to Conan's Barbarian Legion and are fighting alongside the Aquilonians. The Skull-That-Talks is rescued from Setite
control and Otli is restored to life using the sarcophagus of Qetesh. The Aquilonian forces emerge triumphant and Arroth is
promoted into the Black Dragons. Elsbeth, Yara's agent, manages to aquire a Black Ring of Set from a slain sorcerer and the
loyalty of the crocodillian entities that served Qetesh. Bayu reveals that Conan is sending an expedition North
to assist Hrulf Coalhair and discover the fate of Zzeben, Thea's father.
Chapter X: The Rebellion
Our heroes are dispatched to the
North after only a brief stay in Tarantia. They are accompanied by Otli, Bayu, Caudius the Mitran, the Oracle and Kalanthes.
Rorik, the captive Vanir Thane - now purged of the demons possessing him - is serving as scout. Resistance was expected, but not within Aquilonia's borders. In Gunderland Ulfric a rebellious
Lord and his forces confront the party and demand their surrender. A skirmish ensues during which Ulfric takes prisoners and
demands independence for Gunderland in exchange for the life of the hostages. Cael and Arroth deploy their remaining
forces, supported by local loyalists and Bossonian Archers, and destroy Ulfric and his men. They discover that the rebellion
has taken root elsewhere in Aquilonia and that two leaders, Count Drago and Byzantus are still at large. This
intel is swiftly dispatched to King Conan.
