Hyborian Campaign V
"Though most of the Connarch return
to their steading after repelling the Vanir, a small handful respond to King Conan's call for elite northland fighters. Hear
now the lost tales of Aquilonia's legendary Barbarian Legion!"
Chapter I: Haloga Castle
The Connarch infiltrate Haloga Castle to gather intelligence
on a coalition of mages dedicated to the destruction of Aquilonia and the subjugation of the northlands. They discover
and disrupt the vile machinations of a Hyperborean necromancer, a Vanir witch, two Stygian Setites, a shaman of Brutheim -
and of course their many minions. Cael unwittingly frees Rune, a vampiric demigod, who assists them in defeating the
mages.
Chapter II: Minas H'rath
Cael, Drakar and Bobh of the Connarch accompany
King Conan and his Aquilonian soldiers on a search and destroy mission in an accursed desert land. The Brotherhood of the
Spider had sent assassins to kill Conan in his sleep. They failed. Now Conan must quench his thirst for
vengeance. Spider cultists, B'eethra: a fell creature from the Outer Dark and Rune the vampire god all meet their doom at
the bloody hands of King Conan and his Barbarian Legion - with some help from the Aquilonian infantry.
Chapter III: The Wolf-Witch
En route to Tarantia King Conan is informed by his advisor
Otli that the seeress Zelata is missing. Conan assigns a few scouts, the knight Arroth and Urestes, a priest of Mitra,
to Otli and requests that they investigate the matter until Pallantides and his men arrive. The party encounters Dark
Assassins from Khitai and Setite Sorcerer-Priests from Stygia in Zelata's temple. A physical mele soon becomes a battle of
souls. Pallantides suffers heavy losses when his knights join the fray. A scout from the party perishes during the battle,
his corrupted soul redeemed. Two souls are won for Mitra and another two are claimed by Set. Mitra's new converts discover
that the exorcist-priests at the Mitraeum are not happy with King Conan's policies promoting religious tolerance. The
new Setites discover that the plot to overthrow King Conan is well underway and that an agent of Thoth Amon guides
it from deep within the heart of Aquilonia.

Chapter IV: Bacchanal
Volkar the Stout pledges his sword and those of his six Aesir
companions to the Barbarian Legion. Cael, Doon and Zenra of the Connarch accompany Arroth the Aquilonian Knight on
a mission assigned to him by Urestes of the Mitraeum. There are rumors of a Pictish Beast-Cult operating in one of Tarantia's
slums. Aquilonian citizens are being transformed into beast-men and wreak much havoc until the Shamans are dispatched
and their victims are subdued by the Barbarian Legion.
Chapter V: Revenge of the Spider Cult
Acting on intelligence from Volkar
the Stout, Conan sends the Barbarian Legion to Vanaheim to retrieve
the Horn of Hrulf, an Aesir artefact, from the Jormanshalt Temple. In Gunderland the Barbarian Legion is accosted by the fanatical remnants of the Spider Cult's sorcerous hierarchy.
After a brutal contest against swords and sorcery, Cael and his forces triumph. Cookarwa, a wanderer of the world's wild
places, half Nordheimer and half Brute, joins Cael's command after proving himself in the crucible of battle. Though
he did not take part in the carnage the vampire god Rune, fully restored, is observed flying overhead.
Chapter VI: Venarium
The Barbarian Legion is ambushed at the ruins of Venarium by the Ice Queen and her Vanir minions.
Unspeakable atrocities were committed against local Cimmerians by the red-hairs. Seeing the violated corpses of their kin
provokes the Connarch into attacking rashly. Elsbeth, a former comrade now a Setite sorceress, is assisting the Vanir.
It is evident that her devotion to Set has increased her power. The battle ends in a draw despite the Connarchs' rage, the
Aquilonians' skill and the Aesirs' support.

Chapter VII: Captured!
While seeking shelter during a fierce storm in the Eiglophian mountains, the Barbarian Legion meets
some old foes: the Ice Queen and her Vanir warriors, Elsbeth and Cor with a Son of Set and a vengeful Brutheim tribe. After
an epic battle, during which their companions Zenra, Zendrix and Cookarwa are revealed to be traitors in the employ of the
Ice Queen, the survivors of the Barbarian Legion are imprisoned. Several Aesir War Maids are sacrificed. Gunthor
pledges his sword to the Ice Queen, Arroth launches a desperate plan. The other survivors stand firm.
Chapter VIII: Jormanshalt Temple
In Jormanshalt Temple the priesthood of Ymir celebrates Vanaheim's annual fertility festival.
Otli and those still faithful to King Conan await to be sacrificed. Cael directs waves of Aesir and Cimmerian rescuers until
he himself is captured. Elsbeth has risen high in Set's favor. Among the visiting sorcerers plotting Conan's downfall
is Hadrathus the Asuran. Though the ritual is disrupted and the captives rescued, thanks to the timely intervention of Burke
The Executioner and Karela's band of outlaws, the Horn of Hrulf remains in Vanir hands and Otli, King Conan's close friend
and trusted advisor, is dead.
Chapter IX: The Raid on Jormanshalt
King Conan and Pallantides coordinate a raid on Jormanshalt Temple. The Barbarian Legion is supported
by the Executioner's band of mercs and Karela's archers. The Horn of Hrulf is won and a handful of Vanir prisoners are
taken. Jormanshalt lies in ruins and Otli is avenged.
Pallantides and his Black Dragons escort King Conan to Nemedia. Volkar and his warriors, accompanied
by Karela and her archers, return the Horn of Hrulf to the Hall of King Cneph Coalhair in Asgard.
Chapter X: Signs & Sigils in Blood
The Barbarian Legion enjoys their much deserved R&R in Tarantia until summoned by Urestes.
They find the priest of Mitra dying, an arrow protruding from his back. Before expiring he warns them of treachery in
high places and sends them on a mission to the Delvyn cemetery. There they defeat Asuran imposters and their bravos, rescue
Zelata and battle a demon and the restless dead. Stark is possessed... again. There is rioting in Tarantia, the populace is
blaming the King's liberal religious policies for the death of the priest.
