Conan: Betrayer of Asgard is a multi-part adventure that takes PCs into the cold heart of Asgard and far into the neighboring realms of Vanaheim and Hyperborea.

Long ago: Logri the Binder, a Hyperborean necromancer, was defeated by his fellow Witchmen and an artefact called the Orb of Souls. Though they could not kill him, they caught him and bound him. He was buried in Asgard, deep beneath the River of Death Ice glacier. Though the Witchmen took excellent precautions, knowledge of Logri's burial site have survived.

And therein lies this tale: Logri the Still-Living has touched a human mind and has dominated it. His servant, his minion, the tool of his evil will, can cause great harm to Asgard and the Northlands.

But who is the Betrayer of Asgard? Five separate but interconnected adventures will yield the answer.

The five adventures, book-ended by how-did-we-get-there?s, where-do-we-go-from-here?s and New Sorcery Spells are:
  • Crossing of the Dead
  • The Hall of Heroes
  • Tale of Shadows
  • Tale of the Necromancer
  • Betrayer of Asgard
Each chapter in this saga is action packed and can be modified quite easily to fit into an existing campaign. Everything you need to run each separate adventure is contained within the chapter itself: Foreshadowings, Maps, Tables, Random Encounters, EPs, Monster & Foe stats and a great amount of detail. Other than becoming familiar with the information and tailoring some of the details to fit your continuity and the level of your PCs, there is very little work for the GM to do.

And yet - in this saga the GM is paradoxically given lots of influence over how the game actually plays out. A very nice touch.

I highly recommend Conan: Betrayer of Asgard.

Thanks again Mongoose!
