Sometimes you do something and get immediate gratification. We were amazed at how many people came up to us afterwards and shared their positive viewpoints on bats. Many planned to build or purchase bat houses. Others said that they hadn't known much about bats before and found our presentation fascinating.

At the Newfoundland Public Library, an eight-year-old girl offered to draw a bat picture for Muninn. Since this was so close to Halloween, we expected to see something spooky.

Instead, to our delight, Sandra drew this great picture of a happy bat, sun, and flowers. She had learned the importance of bats as pollinators and had especially liked the collection of jade Chinese good luck bats.

We couldn't ask for a better sign that Bat Fest 2008 was successful in working PR magic for the bats!
